- Resources for State Employees available on the Nebraska Library Commission web site.
Julie Pinnell, Information Services Librarian with the Nebraska Library Commission, provided a demonstration of the many resources available to state employees via the NLC web site (http://www.nlc.state.ne.us/nse/). Databases and catalogues of on- and off-line publications featuring sophisticated search options, a "Best of the Web" listing of useful web sites by subject, interlibrary loan request form, and a library contact form featuring a nifty Instant Messaging "widget" for live chat provide state employees with quick access to all kinds of information for themselves and looking up information for the public. - Changing of the Guard.
Jana Johnson completed a successful year as chairperson for the Webmasters' Group. Jamie Lillis will chair for 2008 starting with our next meeting in February. - Miscellaneous.
Crystal Childers suggested that we set aside time in each meeting to "talk shop" so the group can discuss day-to-day issues that webmasters face, including coding issues, etc.
Pat Saldana asked for suggestions regarding Spanish translations of web site content, including meta-data in the header section of a web page.
Chris Voss suggested contacting the Nebraska Acrobat User Group (http://www.acrobatusers.com/chapters/nebraska/) for suggestions regarding proper tagging of pdfs for accessibility. - Adjourn.
